Born on 26 August 1985 in Kolkata, West Bengal, into a Jain family, Vaibhav Maloo moved with his parents to New Delhi in 1990 and later to Mumbai in 1999 for high school. He spent part of his youth playing state‑level tennis and developing early computer programming skills. He also lived for periods in London, Dubai and Pittsburgh between 2003 and 2009.
Maloo earned a BSc in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business (2003‑2009). He completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business at Oxford University’s Said Business School (2012‑2013) and began an Executive MBA at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School (2013‑2014), which he left to focus on his ventures.
